We purchased an under construction flat some years back. I remember we paid around 1 lakh as bribe for occupancy certificate and some 5000 as bribe for registration at the sub registrar. In fact, a political party member came to collect this with the office files in hand!! @Vazroon

I used to run a small hotel.Out of the blue in 2019, Got a retrospective UD tax bill of 60 lakhs (without fines ) from 2008 onwards.. 5 lakhs a years. No previous demand! My turnover was 15 lakhs. Do the math! Paid 1.5 lakhs, but now again with the new mayor, same bill is back @DhananjayFauj

my dad paid nearly 4 lakh to convert this property from b-khata to a-khata. we went through a broker who initially told the cost would be around 60k. it then suddenly shot up to 80k, and then got asked for 1.6l. within a week, another 1.2l affivadit. from my research, it shouldn't cost more than 1.8l. but dad paid nearly 4l. i subtly asked the broker how did it cost so much and the response was "they kept asking for more money to sign papers". this does not end there, they need some human evidence as proof. how did they arrange the evidence? give some money to a random guy in that office, he'll become your evidence for some time. source x - @pixincreate
6 months back my elder brother was coming back from his trip to SA. In the Delhi airport the customs officer seized his brand new Nikon D5600. They claimed the DSLR was for commercial purposes (1 item 😂) and he didn't declare it.
